Week 3

Homework for Week 4: Read page 1-9 of CREATIVITY WORKSHOP. Link HERE.

Come to class ready to discuss. In lieu of of a QUIZ, we will have a GRADED DISCUSSION on the reading.

 

Week 2

For those who missed:

We completed a Creativity warm-up exercise

We took a quiz on the IDEO video

We discussed IDEO’s creative/design process

We began working on our next in-class project, where we will be mirroring IDEO’s process. Our project: Re-design the Mac Lab (138)

We defined 4 major target areas:

• Workspace/comfort
• Room layout (positioning of desks, privacy with the windows)
• Technology (printers, computers, projector, peripherals)
• Decor/ambiance (making it LOOK like a creative “nest”)

After defining the target areas, we broke up and did research (much like IDEO’s team)

For next time, I assigned:

• A 10-question questionnaire regarding the Mac lab (and problems students/teachers MAY have with it)  to be administered to one another IADT graphic design student.
• Responses must be TYPED and submitted to portal NO LATER than 6pm WEDNESDAY, so we have that bit of research to work with before heading into the big BRAINSTORMING PROCESS

Don’t forget! Your Sketch Journals are due every week! 7 sketches with some color.

• Record any insights/thoughts/impressions you receive about COLLABORATION, and TEAM WORK
